Why Saint Gerald's Catholic School?
Note from former Pastor - Fr. Gary Ostrander
Dear Parents, Jesus often used parables to explain his message of good news. One image he used was the sower and the seed. It is the parent's responsibility to plant, nourish and help the seed of faith grow within their children. In our modern world there are many things that go against fostering faith. And because families are so busy it is difficult to spend enough time every day passing on and nurturing faith with your children. We at St. Gerald want to be your partners in nourishing the faith of your children. St. Gerald's School will allow your children to experience and learn our Catholic faith throughout the school day, 5 days a week. I am firmly convinced of the value and worth and sacrifice of Catholic schools. I would ask you to prayerfully and seriously consider St. Gerald's School for your child. We have an excellent school with great experienced teachers, a modern academic program and a Catholic atmosphere that penetrates the whole school day. I am sure you want the very best for your child both academically and spiritually. I hope you will consider allowing St. Gerald's School to be your partner in nourishing the seed of faith in your children. Fr. Gary Note from the Principal - Dave Garland
Dear Parents, Thank you for considering St. Gerald School for the education of your child. We at St. Gerald's feel we have one of the best schools in the Omaha area. St. Gerald School helps each child to be prepared to live a faith-filled life by being part of a Christian community, participating in liturgies adapted to his/her age, being well prepared for the reception of the sacraments and by spiritual formation. St. Gerald has a high academic standard and students have consistently scored high in academic testing. St. Gerald teachers are highly qualified and believe deeply in Catholic education. They are dedicated to creating the best learning opportunities possible for each student. As the school philosophy states, each child is developed in four ways: spiritually, mentally, physically and socially in an atmosphere of prayer, sacraments, commandments and service. We look forward to teaching your child and working closely with you. Parent involvement is highly encouraged. Please feel free to stop by or call any time. Dave Garland, Principal |
