St. Gerald Religious Education Program is for children of the parish in grades K-8 who are students of the public schools. We offer two sessions on Wednesdays beginning at 4:30 and 6:15pm. Each session runs 75 minutes divided into 60 minutes of class time and 15 minutes of community faith sharing. We begin our sessions with a Hail Mary and a prayer to our patron saint, St. Teresa of Avila.

We offer Catholic education using Sadlier books, Scriptures, Benediction, Living Rosary & prayers with two Masses for opening and closing our sessions. In the fall we will be adding a Religious Education Choir that will meet weekly between sessions. Each child's Catholic faith formation is important to us. We will also have two Religious Education Childrens' Mass during the year. We are here to serve the children of the parish and provide them with many opportunities as they grow in their understanding of their Catholic faith.

We encourage our Catechists and Aides to attend training sessions that are offered at St. Gerald and other metro area parishes throughout the year. These sessions provide the tools the Catechists and Aides can use to enhance their teaching and simultaneously assist them in their faith walk. We currently have 14 Catechists certified through the Archdiocesan training and several more in progress.

Registration will begin April 24th for the parish children only. You may print the registration & medical release forms April 24th and thereafter using the links below.

Students entering 1st - 6th grades in the fall
June 24-28 from 9am-3pm
$20 per child for the week or $50 per family for the week.

Students entering 7th - 12th grades in the fall
June 23-27 from 7:30-9:40
$5 per student per night or $20 per student for the week.

Registration deadline is June 17th.

RE Closing Mass & May Crowning

We will have our first Religious Education May Crowning at our closing Mass May 1st. Children are asked to attend and sit with their families. Each child is asked to bring a flower for Mary.

We will begin at 6:15 at 96th & Q Church. This will be a wonderful celebration and end to our year. Please plan on attending.
