Extraordinary Ministers
of Holy Communion

The Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion (Often called EMHCs), minister to the people of our parish by distributing the Body & Blood of Christ during Mass, and by taking Holy Communion to the ill and home bound. EMHCs attend a training program and are commissioned at a special ceremony conducted by Archbishop Curtis. These ministers are truly "Extraordinary" in their service to the Parish. Their ministry brings our Savior to us in a very personal way.

Gather Your People, O Lord
Draw us forth to the table of Life;
brothers and sisters
Each of us called to walk in your Light.
We are parts of the body of Christ,
needing each other,
Each of the gifts the Spirit provides.
(Text based on 1 Cor 12) (Bob Hurd)

Prayer for Vocations
God, source of creation and love, you invite each of us to serve you through the gift of our lives. May your grace encourage men and women to serve the church as priests, sisters, brothers, and lay ministers. Make us an instrument to encourage others to give of themselves and challenge us to do the same. Amen.
