Our mission is to teach our Confirmation Candidates enough about our religion so that they can actively live it. Week 1
Welcome, Prayer to the Holy Spirit, Introduction, Name tags, Rights/Responsibilities (Look at classroom rules. Be sure to include confidentiality), Consequences (2 warnings - then parents come to class), What do you know and what would like to know about Confirmation, Requirements, Journaling activity. Weekly Objectives
Week 1- Paraclete, Covenant, Pentecost, Sanctifying Grace Week 2 - Sponsor, Imposition, Sacrament, Chrism, Bishop as the Ordinary Minister of Confirmation Week 3 - Communion of Saints, Sin as weakening a bond of love, Faith, Apostles Creed. Week 4 - Ten Commandments, Two Greatest Commandments, Beatitudes (Memorize 3), Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Week 5 - Charisms, Gifts of the Spirit (Be able to name and define). Week 6 - Eucharist as the Sacrament of unity. Week 7 - Sanctifying grace, three elements of Confirmation (Anointing with chrism, imposition of hands, the words "Be sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit) Week 8 - Witness, Things Every Catholic Should Know (Page 84) |
