YOUNG ADULT
MINISTRY

'Young Adult Ministry - 20 & 30 year-olds reaching out to others in a spirit of Christian friendship, for spiritual growth, service and fun."

Kathy Kensinger,
Director of Youth and
Young Adult Ministry 331-1955

"If all your friends jumped off a bridge…"
It's normal for children to want to fit in with their friends. They may get to see movies you don't allow, or play with toys or games you won't give your children. How do we wisely decide what to allow when children insist, "Everyone else is doing it?"
Is what your child wants good for his soul? For example, will it forward any of the seven virtues necessary for  good character (faith, hope, charity, prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance)? Or, will it interfere with these virtues?
Ask other parents whose judgment you trust. This is especially helpful if you can find veteran parents who are more experienced.
Put it off. Don't make a hasty decision you may regret. Allowing time to elapse may be the right antidote to the latest fad.
Trust your instincts. When something doesn't feel right, pay attention to your instincts. God often speaks to us in these moments.
Don't act alone. Do your best, and let God do the rest.
Taken from Partners in Faith, June 2008.

Please watch this space for upcoming Young Adult activities or call Kathy at the business office for more information.
